Ridgewaye U7 Boys Crowborough & District

Ridgewaye U7's entertained Tunbridge Wells Foresters for what was expected to be a series of tight games following results earlier in the season.

Ridgewaye Tigers first match went to script in the first half, with both sides evenly matched and no goals were scored. In the second half, following a brilliant save by the Ridgewaye goalkeeper Yannis to deny Foresters the first goal, Ridgewaye went on the attack. Inspired by captain Ben, who crossed for Jacob to score his first goal of the season, and the only goal of the game.  Ridgewaye then controlled the rest of the game to see out victory.

In their second game, Ridgewaye Tigers dominated the midfield with strong tackling from Matthew, and soon opened the scoring in the first half. Ben again had the assist as he fed the ball through to Jacob who shot from distance to score his second goal of the day.  In the second half, Tigers controlled play and scored their second goal to make the game safe.  Ben, with his third assist of the day, crossed the ball to Yannis to score on debut from close range.

Ridgewaye Sharks had two very similar, evenly matched games against Foresters with both teams contesting every ball and some great tackling skills on show.  In the first game, despite some great passing and getting shots on target, the Foresters goalkeeper and the woodwork kept Ridgewaye at bay.  Foresters then scored two goals on the counter attack in the first half.  The second game for Ridgewaye Sharks was a repeat of the first game as Foresters again won 2-0 with another counter attack goal and a cruel rebound despite Ridgewaye playing some great football.

A small boy was crying his eyes out at a football match. Seeing his plight, a policeman came up to him and asked what the problem was.

"I've lost my dad," cried the boy. "What's he like?" asked the policeman.

"Beer, fags and women," said the boy.
