RIDGEWAYE  U-11 Girls 1 ;  Anchorian Angels 2

 

This was a very tough fixture for the improving Ridgewaye who started shakily conceding 2 corners in 4 minutes. Ridgewaye bounced back strongly though as Holly Challingsworth shot just wide. The rest of the first half was very much the same with shots at both ends. In the second half Ridgewaye played on the counter-attack with Nancy Perkins' shot just skimming the post. A couple of minutes later, after Stacey Edwards shot hit the 'keeper, Sara Walker chipped the ball gracefully into the empty net. Anchorians hit back though and kept Ridgewaye's superb defender, Imogen Ellis, very busy. Unfortunately Anchorians scored 2 late goals and although Ridgewaye pressed they could not find an equaliser.

U 11 Ridgewaye Girls  1-2 Sittingbourne Lionesses

Ridgewaye started this game strongly with Stacey Edwards shooting after just 10 seconds! After that the game was very even with shots at both ends. 10 minutes later Holly Challingsworth hit the post with a great shot. 20 minutes into the first half Ridgewaye were awarded a penalty after Sara Walker was brought down in the box. She then smacked the ball into the centre of the goal to where unfortunately the goalkeeper had anticipated it would go. The ball then was then gathered by the goalkeeper and kicked away to safety. The first half ended 0-0. 5 minutes into the second half Betty Smith had a great shot on goal which was saved by the keeper. After 16 minutes Sittingbourne scored after a dribble from one of their players. 2 minutes later Georgina Newman scored a great goal and gave Ridgewaye an equaliser. With the last kick of the game Sittingbourne scored a good goal which Ridgewaye were unfortunate to concede.
