Our season in the Under 12 Crowborough League last year ended well. During the summer we won the Horam & Broad Oak tournament swiftly followed by victory at Eastbourne. We were also semi finalists at Uckfield, Jarvis Brook and our own Ridgewaye tournament. A wonderful year of football! The squad includes girls from a variety of backgrounds and schools, some living as far away as Tonbridge and Sevenoaks. The policy of the team is to promote total football for all in a comfortable and secure environment where every player's contribution is regarded as important.
Our Under 13 season started woefully with a heavy defeat by the league and cup double winners, Phoenix Ladies. Our future looked forboding but a run of 6 successive wins put us into second place in the league. A further cup run taking us to the semi-finals proved that the team had matured from a mini soccer background to the larger game.
By Christmas 2011, with half the fixtures fullfilled the team are holding 4th place in the league and looking to climb further up the table by the end of the second half of the season. There are 11 fixtures to be played so lots of points are still available.
The enthusiasm of the players and the support of their parents are prime factors in the success of this little group of girls who wanted to play football and have now become a major team in the Kent Ladies Under 13s Division 1.
